If you have ever fancied having a go at spinning your own yarn, this taster session might just whet your appetite for this classical and ancient craft.

It is such an enjoyable and absorbing activity which enables you to produce something completely unique.  It’s easy to get started and you can make a drop spindle for very little cost.

During the session, you will look at the qualities of different fibres and you can have a go at each stage of the process – carding, drafting, spinning and plying.  You’re welcome to use one of our drop spindles or you can bring your own, and there will be some spinning wheels on hand in you want to try one out.

The cost includes all materials and refreshments will be available for a small donation.  Spaces are limited so advance booking is required.  Get your tickets direct from The Woollery at 6 Warminster Road, Westbury.

Please note: The event on 5 October will be at the Library in Edward Street from 11 am.
