A Palm Court evening with Trio Paradis
Trio Paradis – Jacquelyn Bevan (piano), Lisa Betteridge (violin) & Linda Stocks (cello) – formed in 2009 – presents the delights of a palm court playlist in a 1920s themed evening.
This is your opportunity to channel the 1920s. 20s dress is optional but definitely encouraged!
Trio Paradis will be joined in this event by Petit Ensemble who will add atmosphere with period prose and poetry.
So what is Palm Court Music?
Well it is light-hearted entertainment and a world of good tunes. Mixed in with the music of Gilbert & Sullivan and the music halls, there could be music from Elgar, Percy Grainger and almost anything by Eric Coates. Combine these with Ivor Novello and Noel Coward, Strauss, Gershwin and Leroy Anderson – all contribute to the essence of palm court music.
Born in the 1890s, palm court includes even the ballads and film scores of the 1950s – music for all who appreciate a good tune!
So dig out the glad rags, polish up the dancing shoes and book your ticket now.
