Aldbourne Brass Band
Join the celebrated Aldbourne Brass Band in opening the 2021 Westbury Festival with a spectacular evening of brass entertainment. If you enjoy the Last Night of the Proms, you will love this!
Established in 1860 and known as the “Dabchicks”, the band achieved great acclaim during the 1920s and 30s and has continued to achieve success – currently ranked in the world’s top 25 brass bands after recent competition success.
As part of a busy concert schedule, the band hosts four free open air “Pond Concerts” in Aldbourne during the summer months, although this is on hold currently because of government Covid regulations.
However, they hope to be able to end the year as usual with their annual Christmas Day carolling around Aldbourne, which commences at 4.00 a.m.!
The band is conducted by Musical Director Glyn Williams who remains one of the leading euphonium players in the world. Glyn is in great demand as a soloist, conductor, teacher and adjudicator across the UK, Europe and North America.
