Drawn to War – A Film about Eric Ravilious

The acclaimed film about official British war artist, Eric Ravilious

The fascinating story of the renowned war artist whose work included the iconic picture of our own White Horse.

An opportunity to see the first major feature film about Eric Ravilious, the much loved but hugely underestimated British Official War Artist killed in a plane crash over Iceland in 1942.

The film recounts a life as compelling and enigmatic as his art, set against the dramatic wartime locations that inspired him and asks what his life and art tells us about one of Britain’s most innovative artists and designers.

The story is told in Ravilious’s own words using a wealth of material drawn from a treasure trove of private correspondence and previously unseen archive.
