Close friends and oboe duo, Raluca Vinson and Amanda Williams come together to perform a mix of classic and contemporary duets.
Raluca Vinson studied Oboe and Music Pedagogy at the Music Academy in Cluj Napoca in Romania and has enjoyed sharing her beautiful sound for many years both in Romania and England. Raluca has previously been invited to perform as part of the Westbury Music
and Arts Festival in their lunchtime concert series and has enjoyed performing with piano accompaniment on Frome Multicultural Festival’s stage.
Recently, Raluca has had the opportunity to demonstrate her soloistic qualities with Frome Symphony Orchestra having been invited to perform Ravel’s
Le Tombeau de Couperin. A piece recognised for its musical challenge and beautiful melody. Raluca has rehearsed and performed regularly with both the Frome Symphony Orchestra and as lead oboist with The Warminster Philharmonic Orchestra for the past
13 years.
Amanda Williams studied Music with Fine Art at Brunel University and continued her studies at Bath Spa University becoming a primary school teacher with a music specialism. Amanda is the founder and conductor of the Warminster Philharmonic Orchestra and enjoys
playing the piano, cornet, oboe and ukulele to inspire the next generation of mini musicians.
Amanda has played the oboe semi professionally with the 4Play Woodwind Quartet for 20 years featuring in the Bath Arts and Music Festival, the National Trust’s Christmas Wonderland events, frequent CenterParcs bookings and enjoys making music as a perfect opportunity
to catch up with her friends. Amanda and Raluca performed as a trio as part of Warminster’s Inspire Music Festival in previous years.
Amanda and Raluca’s musical worlds have intertwined so perfectly with many layers of their lives joining together over the years. Tonight’s informal performance of Stereoboes is another example of how closely their friendship and talents combine, helping the
pair to create head space, escapism and freedom through rehearsal and performance whilst creating music for others to enjoy.
No need to book, just come along and enjoy the music!
