Henry Normal – The Escape Plan
It’s hard to define BAFTA award winning Henry Normal. He is a script writer, a producer, a poet, a comic, a radio presenter…
As a writer he is known for co-writing The Royle Family, Mrs Merton, Coogan’s Run and the feature film The Parole Officer amongst many others.
As co-founder and MD of Baby Cow Productions, which he set up with Steve Coogan, he produced show such as Gavin and Stacey, Alan Partridge, Moone Boy, Uncle, The Mighty Boosh, Nighty Night and the Oscar-nominated film Philomena.
As a poet he has published several acclaimed volumes and toured with Pulp as a performance poet.
As radio presenter he will be releasing another series of his Radio 4 show A Normal History this summer following his Great Lives edition on his hero, Spike Milligan (Jan 2022)
Henry’s new show, which is touring nationally, draws on over 40 years of work and features material from his acclaimed BBC Radio 4 series and his ten poetry books, including the two latest collections. It’s a warm, moving, unique and very funny show where comedy meets poetry and features stories, jokes and poems from an incredible body of work and covering an extraordinary life and career.
