When most people are thinking about topping up their pensions, turning their attention to gardening or a new hobby, former nurse and health visitor Jacqui Furneaux gave her furniture away, stored her remaining possessions in a few cardboard boxes in her brother’s attic and bought a one-way ticket to Bangkok. As her year away progressed, she was inspired by a young Dutch motorcycle traveller she met in India. For her 50th birthday, she bought her own Royal Enfield motorcycle and, quite unintentionally, spent the next 7 years riding it home through 20 countries.
She hasn’t stopped since!
