Poetry Open Mic

Come along to this open mic poetry evening or as the Americans call it – a “Poetry Slam”. 

It sounds like a mysterious, scary and intimidating thing doesn’t it?  Will poetry books fly through the air and slam into your face? No, this is England after all… and a poetry slam is just reading poems aloud in a public place to celebrate poetry. 

You can bring your own poetry or a favourite poem to read out loud – it could be silly or serious, a rant, a recital or even a rap. But if you are a little shy, you could just come along to listen and enjoy the company!
